CSS BACKGROUND OPACITY

CSS (Cascading style sheets) is a language used to describe look and formatting of HTML documents. CSS is designed to be used to separate document content and document formatting. The most common use of CSS is to style the web pages written in HTML and XHTML.
There are various levels and profiles of CSS. Each level of CSS is an incremental release, which adds new features and is denoted as CSS1, CSS2, and CSS3. The profiles are mainly a division of one or more levels of CSS developed for a particular device or user interface. Presently there are profiles for printers, mobile devices and television sets.

The CSS syntax consists of three parts:
• A selector
• A property
• A value
Example: selector {property: value}

What is CSS Background opacity?
One of the things that can be done with no difficulty in print design, but not on the Web is superimposing text on an image or colored background, and changing the transparency of that image so that the text fades into the background. The problem can be solved with help of CSS Background opacity which has a property in CSS 3 that will allow you to change the opacity of your elements so that they fade in and out.
The opacity property takes a value of the amount of transparency from 0.0 to 1.0. 0.0 is 100% transparent - anything below that element will show completely through. 1.0 is 100% opaque - nothing below the element will show through.
So to set an element to 50% transparent, you would write: opacity: 0.5;
A few points to remember about CSS Background opacity is:

• Neither Internet Explorer v6 nor v7 support the CSS 3 opacity property. Instead, IE supports a Microsoft-only property "alpha filter". Alpha filters in IE accept values from 0 (completely transparent) to 100 (completely opaque). So, to get your transparency in IE, you should multiply your opacity by 100 and add an alpha filter to your styles:
filter: alpha(opacity=50);

• For some older Mozilla browsers you need to use the property "-moz-opacity" to change the transparency. It works the same as the CSS 3 property.
-moz-opacity:0.5;
• You can also make Images transparent too by setting the opacity on the image itself and it will fade into the background. This is really useful for background images.

Note: You can notice the difference in the code between the first row, which uses the same color value for each row, combined with an opacity value, and the second, which uses RGB values: maintained by safari3, firefox3, chrome not hereditary, on results on child elements not able to be applied to images. These languages are defined by technical specifications, which usually include a machine-readable formal grammar (and vocabulary). The act of checking a document against these constraints is called validation, and this is what the Markup Validator does.

W3C home page for the XHTML2 Working group, which was chartered in March 2007. XHTML2 Working group is to fulfill the promise of XML for applying XHTML to a wide variety of platforms with proper attention paid to internationalization, accessibility, a device –independence, usability and document structuring. The group will provide an essential piece for supporting rich Web content that combines XHTML with other W3C work on areas such as math, scalable vector graphic, synchronized multimedia, and forms, in cooperation with other Working Groups.

W3C produces what are known as “Recommendations”. These are specifications, developed by W3C working groups, and then reviewed by Members of the Consortium. A W3C Recommendation indicates that consensus has been reached among the Consortium Members that a specification is appropriate for widespread use.

Web Server in Linux

A web server provides ability or takes advantage of web based applications. In simple it is where a website physically resides. The softwares required are redhat, suse, fedora etc. Many versions of redhat such as 7.0, 8.0 etc can also be used. The webpages are directly served from the directory as configured by the document root directive. The apache may be configured to run as a host of a single website or it can also be configured to run multiple domains. This can be achieved in two ways such as Virtual hosts and multiple IP based virtual hosts.

First change the default value for server name. It is prudent to limit apache’s view only to necessary directories. It can be done by not granting access to everything but only grant access to necessary directories. The Apache web server allows to congfigure a single computer to represent multiple websites. This can be done in two ways such as name based virtual host and IP based virtual host. Once you do this your default system domain will stop working and the default domain must now be considered as virtual domain. There must be a limit on maximum number of clients who can simultaneously connect. If this limit is exceeded then the clients will be locked out There is no need to grant a shell account which allows only the user more potential security holes it can be included in the file when creating the user . The Chroot blind provides an extra security also. You can use a single Linux server to forward requests to a cluster of servers.

Definition:
HTML is a MarkUp language used by web browsers in creating a website.

HTML helps you to create your own website. It is not a programming language as it name itself tells you its“Markup”… A Markup language consists of tags which are basically used as commands in publishing a web site.
The structured documents are created using tags, which are semantics used in formatting text such as headings, paragraphs, titles, header, images and so on. I have been speaking about tags what actually does it mean and in what format do they need to be written??..

HTML Tags:

HTML tags are keywords surrounded by angle brackets like . There is a format involved in using these tags, they come in pairs like and . Each is respectively called as start tag and end tag.

You were introduced to the world of HTML. Lets go in depth, starting of wit its origin.

History

In 1989, Physicist Tim Berners-Lee who was working as a contractor in CERN wrote a memo proposing an Internet-based hypertext system. Berners-Lee specified HTML and wrote the browser and server software in the last part of 1990.
